They say so much what I am trying to say to coworkers and families: Alzheimers art is its own language but it is a door that cracks open where family can glimpse the part of the self that is intact, unaffected by the illness.
I work with a day enrichment program and I have become obsessed with all kinds of art as a means to communicate. Can you say this better than me? Thank you so much for taking the pictures and sharing them and your thoughts.
CarolynRoseCarolynRosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12760983943787575403noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5742650874369129320.post-53745588581123272262009-10-06T08:10:14.912-05:002009-10-06T08:10:14.912-05:00I love your mom's eye, and her spirit.I love your mom's eye, and her spirit.Miss Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10726257680235907308noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5742650874369129320.post-27464833604103801802009-09-28T11:39:45.153-05:002009-09-28T11:39:45.153-05:00She has a good eye! I sent in a bokeh photo, too. My husband's father in Minnesota is in a care facility for Alzheimers and my friend, age 53, is in a care facility now. I visit her regularly here in Oregon, though she doesn't recognize me. It doesn't matter to me, for she is sooo special.
