I love the bright cheery yellows. And, at least her Mother slipped away peacefully. I'm not looking forward to that time, but hope for the same for my dear Mom.
Being a fiber freak I LOVE the second photo the best! I have been catching up on your blog- beautiful brilliant and coming from such lovely humour re: AD and your very creative Mother. So uplifting and sweet- in blogworld- I am sure that you face days of complete exhaustion, your blog is fresh air - a great example of love - how we ought to approach our folks in their worn out years.
Last year, I lost my grandfather, and the year before, my husband lost his grandmother to Alzheimer's. Since then, part of my MFA experience has been to work on a chapbook of poems about the experience, and a few will appear next week on This Joy + Ride. It's such a sad experience--so difficult to see your loved ones go through that memory loss and confusion.
Rick, no, that was a gift from the ever-thoughtful P. It is fuzzy on the outside, the smooth part with the pictures makes a loud crackly sound which I find addictive yet annoying. I can't stop myself from making it crackle yet the sound is annoying too. Mom loves it.
