She seems to be exploring balance in her last few installations. There is enough of an angle there that the potato would fall out of the carton but for the pencil. I snapped a few just before Mom grabbed the potato. I put my camera away. You'd think I'd learn, right?
She wasn't done yet. She needed the potato as the final touch to another installation.
The dishtowel is the one I had used to strain the juice from the grapes. It started out white. I had rinsed it out, but hadn't washed it yet. I like how she has the red on one side, the blue on the other, and the shorter ones in back, sort of peeking out between the tall utensil and the carton.

The top one looks like a Nativity scene of sorts. I find this so interesting and fascinating. Thank you so much for sharing.
Sophanne, you're right, it does! I hadn't seen that until you mentioned it. I hit publish before I was done with the post somehow, so the one on the top is now on the bottom. You snuck your comment in while I was editing.
your mom is freaking brilliant.
i'm also totally impressed that you have gumby-ish-looking cleaning devices...
Was your mom artistically inclined earlier in her life? Seriously. I ask this as she has such a great sense of color, shape, design, etc. She blows me away with her creations.
I, too, think your photos of her art should be published in a book.
Mama Pea
your mom is so cute. So...have you contacted the alzheimers organization yet to start this book project or must we?? smile
The bottom one looks like Mama, Papa, teenage punk-haired brother, shy little sister and baby on her blankie.
I'm also wondering if your mother always had an eye for art.
Rick, I agree. I might be a little biased though.
Mama Pea and Mary, yes, Mom liked to paint. Nothing fancy, she just enjoyed it.
A book would be fantastic. Your mom does amazing work.
