Happy Easter!

How can a major discount retailer starting with W and ending in Mart run out of Cool Whip on Easter weekend? How? Come on, this is rural Minnesota! There are now poor church ladies (the procrastinating ones) running around trying to figure out how to make their Jello fruit salad without Cool Whip! Oh, the humanity!

Heading out to my niece's place for the annual Easter Egg Hunt. Let's hope I don't get the booby prize again.

Your Cool Whip (or lack thereof) story reminds me of the first year we lived up here in the boonies. At the time our town had two grocery stores (but no gas station with convenience store or anything like that). On Wednesday before Thanksgiving, I was in town mid-morning doing my shopping for Thanksgiving. And guess what? Both stores were out of whipping cream! No whipping cream for our pumpkin pie? Yup. That's right. Fortunately, the year after that, our goats were producing so that we could run the milk through the cream separator and always have our own supply of cream. But I still remember the flummoxed feeling of not being able to buy any whipping cream that first year.

Happy Easter to you and your mom! Don't eat too many chocolate bunnies!

Happy Easter!

I'm laughing at the Cool Whip story...Because our local butcher ran out of HAM this morning. I of course, waited till the last minute to get the ham and so...We are BBQ(ing) steaks this afternoon.

Annie, just checking in. Saw the HBO special. You are so great and so is your Mom! I love her art 'still life' creations. Are you doing a photo book of them?
The cool whip story was funny, very descriptive.

It's unbelievable how well you are caring for your Mom! I read this quote somewhere (maybe a greeting card...) , "A son is a son 'til he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter all her life!"
