Kinda Cobblestone Planning

I've had a vague idea in my head ever since the Cobblestone pattern was published. Use the Cobblestone pattern, but do a different color on the yoke. Cardiganize it, maybe.

This is the fiber for the yoke. I will spin this in long color repeats, but sort of haphazardly. I need some excitement in my life, even if that excitement is just not knowing which color will ply with which color, and what it will look like when knit in the yoke.

The dark blue yarn will be the body and sleeves. Instead of cardiganizing it, it will have a deeply split hem on the sides. I might run out of the dark blue yarn, so I may wind up with a capelet/yoked vest kind of deal. Just winging it for now.

I don't know how I decided on these colors.

It just came to me.

In a waking dream kind of way.

Lovely -- esp. that blue with the brighter bits in it! Can't wait to see how it turns out.

That looks very intriguing, especially because I'm in the middle of knitting up a top-down yoke cardigan that is very similar to Cobblestone, with handspun indigo in different shades. And I'm about to have to add in some brown romney because I've run out of indigo.
(It's literally in my lap right now - cosmic.)
I don't know how to link here, but this is the pattern URL:
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/top-down-garter-stitch-yoke-vest-short-rows-version
(written as a baby sweater, but easily adapted for adults)

The designer is naganasu, and you can see my WIP in my projects (himalaya) - just because it's a good-looking & similar design, requiring less yarn.

We could end up with very harmonious sweaters....
Enjoy the spinning.

Tracy,
That pattern is very much what I envisioned, but have never seen before. I love your indigo yarn! I can't wait to see what we both come up with. Who knew we were doing a two person knit along!

I love checking in and seeing the colors you're surrounded by echo in your yarns. It makes me look at my surroundings with a new eye.

Fall in the Upper Midwest. This time of year I miss Ohio, even though I know if I was there I would be cursing the rain.
