Summer Flashback

Even though it is only the beginning of January, I felt the need for a shot of summer. I took a bag of these out of the freezer last night.

It's very tempting to eat the whole crop of strawberries right out there in the garden, (is there anything better than freshly picked fruit, perfectly ripe, still warm from the sun? I don't think so. Well, strawberry sorbet is pretty good too.) but I try to control myself and freeze a bag or two just for this purpose.

Back, you winter blahs, back! For I have strawberries!

Yum! those looks wonderful. I was eyeing some at the grocery store yesterday but at 8.99 a pint I passed. Enjoy those!

Oh, those are pretty. What do you do to keep the birds out of your strawberry patch?

Annie, you certainly know how to push back those winter blahs. I don't have any strawberries in the freezer, but you made me hungry for fruit and I ran downstairs to get an orange out of the frig. Happy summer flashback to you! ;)

8.99 a pint, ouch!

Miss T, I don't know! I don't really do anything. I do find some shall we say, already sampled strawberries, and I just throw those to the chickens. I don't feel like they are going to waste because the chickens get them.

Gina, at least my armpits don't smell like strawberries! Hahahaha!
