Frost

This is frost on my car window. I had to make sure the angle was just right, so that the window didn't reflect me. I managed to get it to reflect the sky, thus the blue color.

I actually managed to get through on-line and scored myself a $200 rebate for a new clothes washer. My electric coop also has a $25.00 rebate. My current washer is almost 20 years old, and I have needed a new one for a while. Imagine, a washer that doesn't periodically spew water all over the floor. Woohoo! I guess I'll go washer shopping this weekend. Any recommendations? It has to be an Energy Star appliance, and I need to be able to wash fleece in it, which means it can't have an automatic water level sensing device. I'm guessing that also automatically excludes front loaders as well.

I too had a machine that oozed water, but mine is only ten years old. It turned out that a gasket was failing. The part was only $20 but it took 6 hours to disassemble the thing, put the new part in, and put it back together. Fortunately my husband did the work, otherwise it would have cost more to repair than to get a new one!
No suggestions on model - we have a front loader that works fine for clothes but wouldn't suit your needs.

Hmmm... we just got a new washer not too long ago (ours was more than 50 years old... and still in great shape!)but water and energy conservation was a priority so a front loader was the only way to go. Not sure if you'll find an energy star in a top loader... We got ours at Sears. In fact we bought all our new appliances there. They have a great selection, can clue you in on all the rebates (local, state, and federal, and we've found them to be quite reliable for repairs. They seem to have sales all the time, and if you call them, they'll usually tell you when the next big sale is coming up... have fun!

Love the frost photo - beautiful!

As far as the washing machine, we replaced ours a year or so ago with a maytag front loader... I happen to miss the old washer! (the old one wasn't leaking.. i'm having a hard time recalling why we replaced it!) We have the washer upstairs, and it shakes so much when it spins - the pictures on the wall rattle! I thought it was because it wasn't leveled properly, so I called about this, and was told it's just the way it is up upstairs floors. ?? argh.
