It's been a while

Hey there! Anybody still reading along? I wouldn't blame you if you weren't! Let's see what has happened in the last month. Kora graduated from beginning obedience, and we start beginning agility in May. We have a month to hone her obedience skills on our own. Should be fun.

Last Sunday I rescued a dog from the culvert across the road from me. I kept seeing a beagle out by the end of my driveway, causing cars to slow down to avoid hitting her. I finally walked down there to see what she was doing. She saw me coming, and disappeared. I realized she must have gone into the culvert, so walked down into the ditch. That is when the big black lab barked at me. I talked to him, and he melted. No more ferocious barking. He must have followed the little beagle in, but couldn't make it all the way through. The outlet side had filled in halfway with dirt. He couldn't back up. I went back home for the shovel, and shoveled him out. I managed to keep hold of him, and got the beagle too. They were my neighbor's dogs. I'm very glad the little beagle stuck around and I went to see what was up. I shudder to think what may have happened.

The other day I heard breathing behind me and turned around to see how Mom was doing. Then I remembered. That just sucks.

A friend is coming over tomorrow after work to stay the night, so we can head out at first light Saturday to go to the Textile Center Garage Sale. I have never been, but my friends have it down to a science. They know where to park, where to eat, etc. I'm looking forward to it.

Good to hear from you. I lost my Dad almost 3 years ago and still think I see him every once in a while. Grief takes a long time. The textile center garage sale is amazing! Unfortunately I can't go this year but you'll have fun!

So nice to see Maple Corners in bold on bloglines. I'm glad things are going well. How lucky that the beagle stuck by her pal & that you saw her.

I have three (only three) blogs that I check on a daily basis. Yours is first! I am not posting to mine very often, either, so, I'm certainly not going to nag you! But, although I understand very little about the wool-working and such, I just enjoy the way you write! So, keep it up! As for the dogs, you are a good neighbor to keep an eye out like that! You saved the dogs and their owners much grief.
