Alpaca/Cormo 50/50 mix needlefelted onto a crinkly fabric. I can't decide if it is done, or if I need to do some type of embellishment on the lapel. I don't know what kind of embellishment though.

What about a blanket stitch around the edge?
Wow, you needle felted that whole thing? It's gorgeous, but man, that's a lot of poking! Might want to look up wet felting for next time...and given how beautiful this shawl is, I certainly hope there will be more!
For embellishment, I can imagine a fine yarn handspun from the same fiber you used for the felting, then used for a delicate crocheted (shell?) or knitted edging.
So very pretty. I'm planning to do something like this as a xmas gift for my mom this yr, only nuno felting and then cutting and sewing pieces to make an unstructured jacket. Will be an interesting project, I think.

What about some freestyle embridery on the edges? or some funky antique buttons as embellishment? Really beautiful!
I can't imagine the work involved but it looks so soft and very beautiful. I like the idea of antique buttons and something delicate would be a good contrast to the luxurious texture of the wool.
Livnletlrn, never fear, I have a needle felting machine! It still took some time, but I would never do this much by hand. That would be a lot of poking.
No embellishment but maybe a pin or brooch to change the look to dressy. It is quite lovely, Annie.
